Fundraising

Reasons to give to the Direct Drive

  • Donations to a 501c3 non-profit like Madison PTSA are tax deductible
  • Donations can often be matched by your employer, doubling your donation
  • 100% of the money is used for the kids - no fundraising overhead

Together we ARE better
$75 contributed to the Direct Drive for every Madison student would equal $67,500 and nearly make our entire budget for 2008-2009 - with one fundraiser. Imagine that Enrichment!

Fundraising activities for the 2009-2010 school year:

  • 6th Grade Auction Baskets - Help support the Madison Spring fundraiser by contributing to the class baskets.

  • May Day Bash - Celebrate End of WASL Testing - Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction!

Fill out this form to calculate the amount due, and buy your tickets online with PayPal, or you can return the form to your advisory teacher with a check attached!

  • Direct Drive Campaign - Year Round - If every family gave just $75 we would exceed our fundraising goals!

What your efforts will help accomplish this year
Why do we fundraise? So we can insure our kids have all of the basics and a few of those 'extras' that help them thrive. This year the PTSA's fundraising dollars will pay for:

  • Library Books
  • Computer Lab Maintenance
  • Scholarships
  • Health Supplies
  • Classroom Supplies
  • Art and Technology Materials
  • All School Assemblies
  • Athletic Uniforms and more...

How do we raise these dollars? The PTSA has two major fundraisers planned for this year; a Direct Drive that begins at the start of school and peaks in February and a Cookie Dough Sale in October. We are currently investigating other fundraising possibilities to complete the budget. We welcome all ideas and hope that you will be part of making Madison even better.

Volunteering Opportunities
Many hands can accomplish great things.

There are many opportunities to get involved at Madison. Some immediate needs are: the PTSA Board needs several dedicated individuals to fill vacant spots (please see the back of this pamphlet for a list of vacancies). The Bulldog Newsletter needs a new editor. Each of the 6 school teams (two per grade) need parent reps. Each major fundraising event needs a chairperson (except the Auction which is in the capable hands of Christi Webster) and support staff.

School events such as field trips and dances need chaperones.

There are three political entities at Madison that need parental support and involvement. They are the ASB, Site Council, and the Building Leadership Team. There are PTSA representatives on each group which allows for greater communication between the professional school community, the student body and the parents.
